Many years ago Peter and Janet Jones started making wooden toys for their two little children Rebecca and Andrew. Many Christmas Eves were spent putting the finishing touches to piles of special hand made wooden presents!
What started as a hobby soon became a business, and now almost 20 years later, the whole family is now employed producing these unique hand made wooden gifts for thousands of children from near and far.
Peter, Janet, Rebecca and Andrew all contribute ideas to the designs, and every wooden item in the shop is made by them. Peter is a very skilled craftsman, cutting out everything, even the tiniest pieces on his fretsaw. Andrew helps in the workshop by drawing, cutting, sanding, dying and anything else that has to be done. Jan and Rebecca multi-task by painting and putting all the finishing touches to everything, while serving customers and looking after the Pine Needles Shop in the Gower Heritage Centre
All of our products are available in the Pine Needles shop within the Gower Heritage Centre. We have had various shops here since our first tiny shop in 1991, each one expanding in size to accomodate our ever growing ranges of quality crafts. We also like to support other small Welsh businesses by offering their crafts for sale ,some of which will be offered on-line in the future.
If you visit the shop, you will probably also meet the fifth member of our family - Charlie the dog!
